Below are a selection of media activities Sean has been involved in over the years, from editorial and press interviews to radio, TV and digital broadcast.
Print & Press
Sean regularly writes articles and is quoted in the press on pet topics and animal welfare, including in The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Huffington Post, Forbes, Evening Standard, Metro, The Telegraph and Daily Mail amongst others.
A published author, Sean released The Happy Dog Cookbook in 2019. A fun, educational cookbook for dog owners containing Sean’s top tips and advice on healthy diets for dogs and delicious recipes for healthy treating.
Sean is resident vet advisor with weekly pet column Paws & Claws in the Sun on Sunday, with a circulation of over 1.26M.
Broadcast
Sean first appeared on TV in Ireland on the successful garden design show, RTE’s Super Garden. In his series he created a garden designed for wildlife and people alike.
Sean has appeared on many radio shows from RTE’s popular wildlife show, Mooney Goes Wild on One, Winifred Robinson’s You and Yours on BBC Radio 4, Jo Good’s The Barking Hour on BBC London as well as countless regional radio stations.
In 2016 Sean filmed a pilot for a new vet programme for Channel 4 which was sadly not commissioned. He has been ‘vet on set’ for various TV projects involving dogs.
Digital
Sean has been featured across various digital platforms and broadcasts, including news pieces ranging from brachycephalic dog welfare for The Times to a spider season piece for Channel 5 news.
As Head Vet at tails.com he produces regular advice videos for pet owners for broadcast on social media. He also produces and presents on the highly successful YouTube channel for Ealing Wildlife Group to an audience of nearly 37K subscribers.
He regularly lectures online for the Webinar Vet and is an occasional guest speaker for various environmental groups.
Expert guest, BBC’s CBeebies ‘Teeny Tiny Creatures’
Harvest Mice
In this children’s natural history show, Sean showed presenter Chantelle and several children the harvest mice he’s breeding and releasing as part of a vital reintroduction project to restore the threatened species with Ealing Wildlife Group. The kids each got to release a mouse back to the wild, experiencing the wonder of nature first hand. Spider Season
In this news piece Sean was invited to speak, as the founder of Ealing Wildlife Group, about spiders in our homes each Autumn. Bringing live spiders to the reporter’s kitchen, and challenging the public’s perceptions in the park, hilarity ensues!
‘Strictly Exotic’ TV show pilot
Sean the Exotic Pet Vet
In 2016 Sean filmed a pilot for a TV show with Broad Bean Media which was pitched to Channel 4. With the rise in popularity of ‘SuperVet’ it was felt that it wasn’t the right time for another niche or specialist vet programme. Here’s some never before seen sample footage.
Speaker, London National Park City 100 Voices
Here Sean speaks about his owl conservation project he set up with Ealing Wildlife Group and Ealing Council park ranger team. He was invited on as one of 100 people making London greener, healthier and wilder.

Sean writes popular vet advice column Paws & Claws for the Sun on Sunday UK each week. With a circulation of over 1.26M, Sean feels it’s a great way to help the nation’s pet owners with free and accurate advice from a veterinary professional.
The Happy Dog Cookbook
In Autumn 2019 Sean published his first book with tails.com and renowned children’s nutrition expert, Annabel Karmel. All profits from the book are donated to a charity very close to Sean’s heart, StreetVet. Made up of volunteer vets and vet nurses, StreetVet provide free and accessible veterinary care to the pets of those experiencing homelessness.

From how to control your dog’s weight to keeping them occupied and mentally stimulated, Sean share’s his top tips for happy, healthy dogs.
Pedigree Dog Welfare Advocate
Sean is a passionate and outspoken advocate for animal welfare, particularly when it comes to pedigree dog welfare. He has been featured and published widely speaking out on how current breeding practices can be harmful for dogs and how welfare could be improved.

Sean wrote this marketing industry piece to highlight the irresponsible use of extreme brachycephalic dogs in advertising, such as Three UK’s Puggerfly social media campaign.
